Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

Summary: QuickReact stores favorites and recents locally. GIF search sends only the search text to our backend (then Giphy). Premium activation sends your license key to our backend for validation. No ads, no analytics, no sale of data.

1. Information We Process

Stored locally in your browser (Chrome storage):

Sent to our backend (backend-quickreact.vercel.app) only when you use those features:

We do not collect your name, email, browsing history, or the content of the pages you visit. Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy on their checkout page, not inside the extension.

2. How We Use Information

Local emoji preferences are used only to show favorites and recents. GIF queries are used only to return GIF results. License keys are used only to unlock Premium. We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.

3. Third-Party Services

Giphy: GIF searches are proxied through our backend to Giphy. Only the search text is sent. Giphy privacy policy: Giphy privacy.

Lemon Squeezy: If you buy Premium, checkout and tax handling happen on Lemon Squeezy. Their privacy policy applies to that purchase.

4. Data Security

License validation and GIF search use HTTPS. We do not embed API secrets in the extension. Keep your license key private; anyone with the key can activate Premium on a limited number of devices.

5. Permissions Explained

storage: Save favorites, recents, and Premium license state on your device.

Host permission (our backend): GIF proxy and license validation.

Content scripts on all sites: Show the picker next to text fields and insert the emoji or GIF you click. The extension does not scrape page content.

6. No Tracking or Analytics

QuickReact does not use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or usage telemetry.

7. Children's Privacy

The extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

Clear favorites and history from the extension popup, or remove the extension. Uninstalling deletes local Chrome storage for QuickReact. To stop Premium validation, uninstall or contact support via the Chrome Web Store listing.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through the Chrome Web Store update notes.

10. Contact

If you have questions about this privacy policy, you can open an issue on our GitHub repository, leave a review on the Chrome Web Store, or contact us through the support email listed on the Chrome Web Store.

11. Source

The Chrome extension package contains the client code reviewers and users can inspect. Configuration URLs (backend, checkout) are in config.js.

Bottom line: No ads and no analytics in the extension. Local preferences stay on the device. The only network calls are GIF search and Premium license checks.
